Clay Arts Center 60th Anniversary

Port Chester, NY
January 29, 2017

Reena Kashyap, director emeritus of Clay Art Center, has curated a 60 year visual history of this nationally recognized ceramic arts center that has played a vital role in the development of ceramic artists in the United States. As a multi-media exhibition project, REWIND will kick off Clay Art Center’s 60th year with first-hand accounts of the happenings within the walls of the Center from the very beginning. 70 past and present Clay Art Center artists will exhibit recent ceramic works along with their heartfelt stories of the development of the non-profit all the way from its grassroots beginnings. Oral histories will be available on-site and online to view and scheduling a docent tour is welcome.

“When I first came to Clay Art Center in 1997 it was the best kept secret known only in the clay world and not to the general public. Through this first exhibition titled REWIND, and all year long as we celebrate our 60th anniversary, I am excited to share with you and the community at large our rich history.” –Reena Kashyap
